DeSoto House Hotel
Opened in 1855. Abraham Lincoln and William Jennings Bryan have been guests here.
At one point a fire and boiler explosion combined with economic decline took heavy toll on the DeSoto House, but it has been since fully restored.
This is one of the locations of Galena said to have ghosts.
It was named for Hernando DeSoto, the European discoverer of the Mississippi River
